Getting to meet someone interesting is always on the mind of the people who are single. That is why any show related to dating is a big success. Online sites are doing great business bringing together two lonely people without much effort on the part of the couple.  

This could be an ideal situation for most as you are not required to meet until you have found out enough about each other. Television dating is different. In Television dating you will meet complete strangers for the first time.  

There will be no privacy as you will be in front of the camera all the time. All your romantic moments will be filmed and broadcast over the television where millions of people will be watching you. You will be required to speak and behave in certain ways according to the producers of the show.  

Television dating is good for those who want publicity and those who are not embarrassed to put their private moments in front of everyone. The participants are required to do a host of things which in reality they may not do. The romantic moment, fight, jealousy, and trying to grab attention are all parts of a script which are acted out by the participants to make the show more interesting.  

While selecting the candidates for the show the producers look for certain traits in the people they select. Recent shows have gorgeous looking participants all trying to earn a date with one person of the opposite sex.  

Thousands of young people are trying to get into these shows for fame and to meet someone special. But in reality only a few can take part who are selected by the director or producers of the show.  

The Dating Game which was first aired in 1965 by ABC Television became extremely popular. Over the years many more dating games have been hosted and carried on for months depending on their popularity.

Most of them are hits as there are enough people who love to see relationship happening between people on the television. The format of dating game since 1965 has not changed much. The only thing is that they have become grander.  

Television dating games like ‘The Bachelor’ are very popular. Here there are about 20 women who are trying to attract the attention of one single male.  

The male participant would get to know each female over the weeks and keep eliminating them one by one. This show continues for weeks while the bachelor is trying out various women for perfect chemistry. There are other similar shows like Blind Date, Farmer Wants a Wife, Joe Millionaire and so on.
